The Jewel Of The Seven Stars By Bram Stoker

Horror Book The Jewel Of The Seven Stars. Written By Bram Stoker. Bangla Translated By Ismail Arman. The Jewel of Seven Stars is a horror novel by Bram Stoker, first published in 1903. The story is about an archaeologist's plot to revive Queen Tera, an ancient Egyptian mummy.

Abraham "Bram" Stoker (November 8, 1847 – April 20, 1912) was an Irish novelist and short story writer, best known today for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula. During his lifetime, he was better known as personal assistant of actor Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, which Irving owned.
While manager for Irving, and secretary and director of London's Lyceum Theatre, he began writing novels beginning with The Snake's Pass in 1890 and Dracula in 1897. During this period, Stoker was part of the literary staff of the London Daily Telegraph and wrote other fiction, including the horror novels The Lady of the Shroud (1909) and The Lair of the White Worm (1911). In 1906, after Irving's death, he published his life of Irving, which proved successful, and managed productions at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
Before writing Dracula, Stoker spent several years researching European folklore and mythological stories of vampires. Dracula is an epistolary novel, written as a collection of realistic, but completely fictional, diary entries, telegrams, letters, ship's logs, and newspaper clippings, all of which added a level of detailed realism to his story, a skill he developed as a newspaper writer. At the time of its publication, it was considered a "straightforward horror novel" based on imaginary creations of supernatural life. "It gave form to a universal fantasy and became a part of popular culture."
According to the Encyclopedia of World Biography, Stoker's stories are today included within the categories of "horror fiction," "romanticized Gothic" stories, and "melodrama." They are classified alongside other "works of popular fiction" such as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein :394 which, according to historian Jules Zanger, also used the "myth-making" and story-telling method of having "multiple narrators" telling the same tale from different perspectives. "'They can't all be lying,' thinks the reader."
After suffering a number of strokes, Stoker died at No. 26 St George's Square in 1912. Some biographers attribute the cause of death to tertiary syphilis. He was cremated, and his ashes placed in a display urn at Golders Green Crematorium. After Irving Noel Stoker's death in 1961, his ashes were added to that urn. The original plan had been to keep his parents' ashes together, but after Florence Stoker's death her ashes were scattered at the Gardens of Rest. To visit his remains at Golders Green, visitors must be escorted to the room the urn is housed in, for fear of vandalism.

Tenida Samagra By Narayan Gangopadhyay

Tenida Samagra Written By Narayan Gangopadhyay. Narayan Gangopadhyay (1918–1970), was a renowned South Asian author. He was born in Dinajpur in undivided Bengal, in what is now Bangladesh. His real name was Taraknath Gangopadhyay.
His district was Barisal. His father, Pramathnath, was a police officer. Because his father would be transferred often, he studied in Dinajpur, Faridpur, Barisal and Kolkata. He received his bachelor's degree in arts from Brojomohun College of Barisal; famous poet Jibanananda Das was his teacher there. He was placed first in the first class in Bangla Literature from the University of Calcutta. Later he taught at two colleges in West Bengal and became a teacher at the University of Calcutta. He received his doctorate from that university for a thesis on 'Short Stories in Literature'. He experimented extensively in writing short stories many of which were published in Shonibaarer chithi, a literary magazine of some repute in Kolkata, at the time. He also wrote for the reputed literary magazine Desh under the pen name Sunanda. Among his most endearing creations were the Tenida stories that have become a much-loved addition to Bengali children's literature. He died in 1970 in Kolkata, India.
Narayan Gangopadhyay's first story was published in 'Bichitra'. He was a romantic writer. His literary works are included in the curriculum of school level, secondary, higher secondary and graduation level Bengali Literature in Bangladesh.

Tenida is a fictional native of Potoldanga in Calcutta, who appears in a number of short stories and larger works of the Bengali author Narayan Gangopadhyay. The leader of a group of four young lads who lived in the neighbourhood of Potoldanga, Tenida was depicted as the local big-mouthed airhead, who, although not blessed with academic capabilities, was admired and respected by the other three for his presence of mind, courage, and honesty as well as his vociferous appetite.Descriptions of Tenida's nose also make frequent appearances in the text, being described as "a large nose resembling Mount Mainak". The narrator of the stories is Pyalaram, who seemed to share his leader's frailty in academic exertions.
